There are a few different type of dual brake systems.

Today we are going to examine one type, that is often installed from a dual-brake-kit by garages or the DIY kits available from some suppliers.

Sample Cable-braking System

This kit involves a rather large brake system to be bolted onto your passenger side floor, and then a steel cable to pulled through to the brake side and attached with a sort of pull that “pulls” it towards the ground when the instructor is pressing it.

Advantages and Disadvantages

  • [ – ] Non-removable making less floor room for passenger.
  • [ – ] No reverse braking to ease up a students braking
